Green InitiativesIsland Office Equipment has partnered with Kyocera because of their many environmental initiatives and their green technology that is simply better for the environment. See the documents below that outline in more detail some of Kyocera's initiatives. Island Office Equipment has its own recycling program, where we pick up used toner cartridges from our customer's offices and return them to Kyocera where they are recycled. Kyocera and the Environment (PDF 123k) - Kyocera printers and multifunctional copiers have won more environmental awards than any other supplier because of their technology. Kyocera's Recycling Program (PDF 164k) - Recycling the empty toner cartridges eliminates toner cartridges from landfills and saves resources by recycling and reuse. Not only do discarded cartridges take up landfill space and pose a risk to soil and groundwater quality at any landfill site, but producing new cartridges requires significantly more resources and energy than remanufacturing used cartridges.
